Today was my birthday, and, it was amazing The day began and ended with Zoom chat with just my son and daughter. In-between was lovely combination of receiving messages and surprises throughout the day, treats and gifts delivered, a loved one brought soil to fill my planter boxes, and then, just before my daughter and son hosted a Zoom Birthday toast party, the doorbell rang and well… my son had driven 3 and 1/2 hours to be with me live and in person for the virtual party… appropriately social distanced, of course! So many details of the day I am still savoring and many, many more greetings to read. Which will be welcome during continued shelter in place.
I did not watch the news today… I lived in the moment and savored love and blessings and relationships. It was a welcome respite.
The reminder of our pandemic is that I could not gather loved ones for a celebration in person. Hearing from many and seeing faces on Zoom helped… I long for the day to be able to see people in person tonight. My son’s visit was a taste of what joy that brings. Grateful for much this night; especially my young adult children!
